Pete’s Aquatics is an educational website about freshwater aquarium care, fish, shrimp and plants. Information here is provided for general education only.
Not professional advice
- Not veterinary or scientific advice. Guides explain common patterns and safer first steps. They are not a diagnosis or a treatment plan for your animals.
- Every tank is different. What works in one setup may not work in another. Test your water and change one thing at a time.
- Get qualified help for serious problems. For mass losses, severe symptoms or anything unusual, contact a qualified aquatic veterinarian or an experienced local aquarium professional.
- Use your judgment. Compare sources and follow product labels and manufacturer instructions.
Accuracy and updates
Pete’s Aquatics works to keep information accurate, but makes no guarantee that every page is complete, current or suitable for your situation. Aquarium practices and products change over time. Use information on this site at your own risk.
Product recommendations and affiliate links

- Affiliate relationships do not decide what is recommended.
- Retailers and manufacturers are responsible for their products, safety information, warranties and return policies.
